Various Artists - The Mozart Lounge (2002)

Well, here I am again with a random post after 18 months or so.  This time one of my favourite albums, the 2002 Mozart Lounge compilation from Apollo.

Those of us in the UK will remember many of these from the testcard back in the 70s.

My favourite tracks are by Franco Chiari, I would love one of his albums but would have to sell a kidney to buy one.

Brasilia Nueve - How Insensitive (1967)

One of my absolute favourite albums and a truly remarkable lineup of New York's finest including Bill Potts and Zoot Sims.  Mine is a mono copy and I've been looking for a stereo copy for years, so if you have one, let me know.

Here's a Bill Potts' original, Brasilville.

Larry Page Orchestra - LPO (1969)

Includes Larry's excellent version of Wichita Lineman.  But then again, could there be a bad version of Jim Webbs' classic?

Pete Moore Orchestra - Exciting Sounds Of Tomorrow (1970)

I don't usually repost records but I've had about ten requests for this in the last week, so I thought why not.

Henri René and His Orchestra - Riot In Rhythm (1958)

A truly great late 50s record.  A special thanks to Jim for cleaning up the scans.  Have a listen to Whispering and see what you think.

Chico Arnez - The New Sounds Of (1972)

This is one of those records that I play over and over again.  I wouldn't say it's legendary or anything like that, but everyone I've ever spoken to who's been into "my" kind of music has always sung it praises.  And rightly so.

There are scandalously funky versions of Whole Lotta Love, Aquarius and Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well.  Plus a great self-composed opener called Would I.  There are some great backing vocals too from Sylvia King from The Ladybirds.

I don't want to big it up too much or anything but this is amazing stuff.
