The Sound Spectrum (1996)

It may well be Friday the 13th, but don't worry too much about it, just stick this little beauty on and all will be good with the world.

MP3 and FLAC versions available.

Stelvio Cipriani - Gli Orrori Del Castello Di Norimberga (Baron Blood) (1972)

What can I say?  I have been away for a while but I had a genuine excuse this time: leukaemia.  Anyway, all that is hopefully behind me now so thought I would start to post the odd album again, though I won't be as prolific as I was a few years ago.

This is a great soundtrack from Stelvio Cipriani and if you've not heard it before then you're in for a treat, this is the title track.  I've been a bit lazy and have ripped the tracks as side one, side two, etc.  It would have been a nightmare trying to separate the tracks.  MP3 though I can provide a FLAC version if you wish.

Good to be back.

Albert Elms - Man In A Suitcase (Soundtrack, 1967)

Well, back again.   Can't believe it was Christmas when I last posted anything.

Anyway, this is the excellent vinyl release of Man in a Suitcase, my favourite TV show from the 60s.  The well-known main theme was written by Ron Grainer, but the rest of the music from the series was written by the wonderful Albert Elms.

I'll try and crack on with the broken link requests over the next few days.

Patrick Gleeson - Patrick Gleeson's Star Wars (1977)

I love these synth Star Wars albums.  This one was recorded on the world's most advanced synthesiser apparently, so there you go.

Roberto Pregadio and Romano Mussolini - Satanik (1966)

Again, more apologies for the lack of posts.  This is another excellent soundtrack from Roberto Pregadio and Romano Mussolini.  Had a  lot of positive comments about Kriminal so hopefully you'll enjoy this one just as much.  Once again it's recorded from a picture disc so the quality isn't as good as it could be, but it's worth it.

Roberto Pregadio and Romano Mussolini ‎- Kriminal Soundtrack (1966)

Well after another hiatus I'm back with this thrilling soundtrack from Roberto Pregadio and Romano Mussolini and the 1966 film, Kriminal.  This wasn't available at the time and was recently released on vinyl and CD (which has more tracks).  This is the vinyl version, of course, but is pressed as a picture disc so the quality isn't as good, but is still a treat.

Here's Sequence One.

I'll post another of their soundtracks soon.

Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1978)

I've wanted to post this for a while (a good couple of years) but I've been searching for another copy as this one, unfortunately, is a little sad.  I bought it at the time and for some reason didn't look after it as much as I should.  I've given up getting a better copy, so I thought I'd post as is, so apologies for the surface noise, etc.

Side one is standard fare, nice enough.  Side two is unusual though as they are self-penned tracks from the producer and others and are pretty cool (if dated) ambient sounding affairs.

EDIT:  Thanks to Brian for cleaning my original files.  There are now new links to the cleaned version and I recommend you grabbing those.

Great Western Film Themes Collection

Excellent collection of western themes.  The majority of tracks on this double LP are from the original soundtracks, but there are a few re-recordings most notably the Leroy Holmes Morricone recordings.

Hugo Montenegro - The Best Of (1969)

Always had a soft spot for Hugo's cover versions of Morricone tunes and his excellent Lady In Cement soundtrack.  This highlights some of his best work.

Malcolm Lockyer Orchestra - Themes For TV (1975)

Link collapsed due to DMCA complaint

A really tremendous album this.  Malcolm Lockyer's wonderful TV Themes album, which were all the rage at the time.  Side One is uptempo and funky and side two...er, isn't.

This is his version of Alan Tew's Hanged Man, AKA The Detectives. And Midweek.

Giorgio Moroder - Music From Battlestar Galactica (1978)

This week's soundtrack is a wonderful disco odyssey from Giorgio Moroder.  Side one is taken up with tracks from Battlestar Galactica while side two comprises of one 15 minute Moroder original called Evolution.   All the tracks on side one run into each other so I haven't bothered separating them.  Hopefully that won't spoil your enjoyment too much.

1.    Theme From Battlestar Galactica
2.    Destruction Of Peace
3.    Transmitter - Part One
4.    Adama's Theme
5.    It's Love, Love, Love
6.    Transmitter - Part Two
7.    Exploration
8.    Theme From Battlestar Galactica
9.    Evolution

The Sonic All-Stars - The Sounds Of Star Wars (1977)

I'm a pretty avid collector of soundtracks and film related albums.  Lately, I've been thinking about posting soundtracks on a more regular basis.  So I've decided to post a new soundtrack (or as this post a soundtrack related album) every Sunday.

To kick-off Soundtrack Sunday (I know, it took me a while to come up with that) I've decided to choose this tasty little album from Bruce Baxter.  I was 11 when Star Wars came out and like the rest of the world I went a bit Star Wars mad and bought most things I could find.  Most stuff was great, some not so.  I've always had a notion that Bruce went to his local Rumbelows, bought himself a Bontempi, went home and recorded this.  See what you reckon.  Personally, I love it!

1.    Star Wars Intro/Star Wars Main Title
2.    Princess Leia's Theme
3.    Imperial Attack
4.    Ben's Death/Tie Fighter Attack
5.    Cantina Band
6.    The Throne Room
7.    End Title

John Barry - Ready When You Are, JB (1971)

I, like many others, want to pay tribute to John Barry.  Hastily ripped this evening so apologies for any crackles.

RIP John.

Ennio Morricone - A Fistful Of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More (1968)

One of the ways I like to pass my time is listening to Titoli while our cat and the one next door stare each other out on our garden wall.  "We can fight!"
