The question is will I ever get tired of posting Studio 2 Stereo albums?  Nah...

Hi,

Seems like some blogs have been removed today, HOS2 has also been removed as well as the other place.

Oh, that's such a shame, VR. It seems like we're all on borrowed time then, doesn't it?

The links to this have been removed already! They're really having a go at us, aren't they?

Mediafire working fine - thanks. But two of Spiral's recent MFs vanished today so not even that is safe. The end may be nigh.

What we may really need to do is share our email address, by doing so we can send stuff to each other without the need to blog.

I know it was fun to blog and share, but it does look like we may be forced to take alternative routes, and email is one of them, what you think folks?

I am thinking about this a lot since lately. Would it help to simply move the whole connected blogs? Simply leave Blogger and re-built what we had in another "home"?

Look here: http://my.opera.com/number06/blog/show.dml/10653111

I have seen that a year ago and have saved a link. Would that be an alternative? Or how about wordpress? Or is something else out there that I might not know?

VR, I understand your idea, but I am not sure how that would be co-ordinated. Would you just write up a post (as if you would write it up for a blog posting) and then email it to your connected friends? With info, covers and all?

Or do you think it would work with requests? But how do I know who has what? How can I request something from a former blogger when I don't know what he has?
Or maybe you have meant that in a different way, and I don't understand it right.

This whole thing is a real mess, and like LT I also believe that the wolf in in the fold. I didn't know that saying, but I learned it yesterday, and I believe this is our problem.

There might be too many people involved. But how to find that wolf? He is disguised as a sheep (to stay within that picture of the idiom). Ha, he might be reading this even...

What's going on in bloggerland? Couldn't imagine even private blogs getting deleted. Incredible. @German Witch: I believe, there will be ways out of this situstion, but honestly don't know how to handle that. You know the German proverb: "Wo ein Wille ist, ist ein Weg" (Where there's a will, there will be a way [my translation;]. Your suggestions are possible ways out, VR's too. We'll find out that. BTW if you still want the promised file, ask LT for my e-mail-address.

Ich melde mich baldmöglichst, many thanks for your addy and I hope we all will stay in contact. Now it's late in Germany, good night: there's a lot to do.

Before it's too late I want to thank everyone who has shared all the fantastic out-of-print music with us all. I missed the chance to offer a last thank you to many of you before your blogs went dark, so: "So long and thanks for the fish." Very very sad that this musical legacy is going to disappear from the public once again. It was great while it lasted! If there's a forum somewhere that will allow us to keep in touch, please let us know before it's too late. Cheers to you all!!

baikinange at Schadenfreudian Therapy has mentioned that Wordpress is less susceptible to this kind of stuff than blogger is. That could be an answer.

Otherwise... Thx for the music.

Well, you know my email addy, it's on the front page of the blog, so if you want to send me your emails, just in case, then you're more than welcome to.

To be honest, I don't want to move to Wordpress unless I have to, so I'll keep myself here. I have set up an alternate blog address, just in case I do have to go private, but will worry about that when it comes to it. Actually, I will need email addresses if I go down that route, so please do send me your email address - and your username - so I know who you are. I can keep them then I do go private.

Vinyl Room said...

I-FE,
Going private on blogspot won't make the slightest difference as you will have already noticed that some private blogs have been completely wiped.

Hello,

You suggested perhaps to be given email and usernames, but it's safer to have your comments to be approved first so that you can take the info and not publish the comment so that nobody would see the email addresses.

VR, what I meant was, and what a couple of folks have already done, is email at the address on my blog, the nylonleisurepants one. I've also set up the Emergency Back-Up site, so it's ready to step up to the plate if it's ever needed.
